For me, it took about three days for the worst of the pain to be over but the majority of the pain was over in a week or so. It was many months before the sensitivity was completely gone while eating. My gums were sensitive when food touched that area while chewing. I learned to chew very carefully and probably about a year later I realized I wasn't consciously trying to be careful anymore. My gums eventually filled in the holes left by the missing teeth.
Thank you, I am doing pretty good. The nights are the worst...I get up every 3 hours to get new ice packs to put on my face. Other than some throbbing and swelling, it's all good. =)

I hope you heal quickly.
I need to get my wisdom teeth out too but I keep pushing it back because the thought of being "knocked out" scares me!! I hope you feel better soon!
