My bursitis usually lasts about 3 weeks, just when I thik I can't take it anymore, it does get better. My mobility becomes limited (and I have not been what through what you have) while I can walk up and down stairs it really hurts!!

My bone density -- I have osteopenia in my left hip.  Not sure in the hip that broke (right one) but can only assume it does too.  I walk up the stairs off and on, I mean not a lot fortunately but enough to make this pain a nuisance and in the way.  I should be back to normal by now (surgery was last April) but I seem to be going downhill.  I was told part is muscular because my hip can rotate; but when there is the slightest pressure on the muscle in certain ways, it really bothers me.  However that may not be all of it because if it was all muscular it would be sore from the stair climbing, where this pain pierces in the side of my butt, only when I lift my leg slightly off the ground or put pressure on it like to go up stairs.  They are 2 different types of pain.  I have never heard of the meds you mentioned.  I'm waiting also to see if a cortisone shot will solve things.

Melissa.
