Post Comments - Millions of Needless Deaths Due to Vitamin D Deficiency

Larissalle

Wow, Jsking, would you post a new blog about your experience with vitamin D?  It will help so many people to hear about this.  What level are you maintaining now?  Do you get re-tested periodically?  Scientists are saying to be sure to maintain a level at least 50 ng/ml as this is when your body starts to build some reserves in your fat cells.  Under this level, you're using all the vitamin D you put in.  Thank you for your post.  I'm so glad you're feeling better.  Go vitamin D!!  Go Jsking!!!

It is really amazing how many people are deficient in Vitamin-D, especially in a country such as the US. I found out about a year ago that my vitamin-D level was 9, and that level was taken in the middle of summer and I was already taking a Vitamin-D supplement! Needless to say they put me on a much higher dose of Vitamin-D and that bumped me levels back to normal!  It was kind of odd how I found out about my Vitamin-D level. I went to see a Rheumatologist about joint pain and when he drew blood that was one of the things that he checked. After I went home, a couple days later, I got a call from the doctors office and they told me that I was severely deficient in Vitamin-D and that I needed to go to the pharmacy and pick up a prescription for vitamin-D that the doctor had called in!          My whole life I have suffered with depression and bipolar disorder, and since I started the Vitamin-D I have had no depression and no mood swings at all. I think it was my vitamin-D level that cause the depressive disorder!
