Interesting, My son had a seizure at the age of 15 first one ever. At the ER I was told people have seizures all the time, it does not mean that something is wrong. I went to my family doctor and had to be a bit persistant, he to did his exam and said he will be fine, however did a EEG which came back very bad. Well that was not the case at all, they found out he had epilepsy. I have talked to many people who have told me that at puberity these things can just pop up, I am sure he was having issues for many years, but we did not think about it until he had a visual seizure. My best advise is be persistant!!!! take notes on where and when your child has seizures. best of luck to you and your family!!!!
I went through something similar but as the kid not the parent!! When I was her age when I was in Physical therapy my foot started to twitched, it did this for over 3 months. Doctors could not figure out what in the world was going on. The only time it would stop was when I was sleeping and not even then sometimes, usually only if I was under sometype of muscle relaxer and sleep medication. They started to think it was all in my head when the tests kept comming back negative, but then they put me on an anti-seizure medication and that in high enough dosages stopped it. What was more they were able to see a difference on a Pet scan when it was going and when it was going and I was given the meds proving I wasn't doing it. However, the first doctor we saw for this, didn't do a thing... and so we ended up asking my pediatrician to reccomend another. He was the one who did and put me on the meds. The best advice I can give you is to keep trying. Never give up, if the doctor you are seeing now doesn't believe you, then find another and keep going untill you find one that does!
I know exactly how you feel. we have seen 3 neurologist. That can't find anything, all the test come back fine.BUT SHES NOT FINE!. So after this second seizure this week we went to psychiatrist, yesturday. She is also scheduled to see a naturalist on Saturday. I'm to the point I don't care who cures her. I just want her fixed. I know just how you feel. I don't know if I should cry or scream from all this.
