I have the same problem. I have Hashimoto's and even the endocrinologists are clueless.....How can they tell what dose to give you if your thyroid is hyper, than attacked by antibodies and you become hypo. The results would be different depending on what stage your thyroid is in. It is a big pain to live with!
I as well have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's. As with you, I had lots of problems with doctors. It's been 10 years now and just now I've found a doctor that seems to care. I'm not where I need to be yet, but they have been adjusting my thyroid meds. This is all taken place at a free clinic. A place for people who don't have health insurance. My blood word is showing I'm whee I need to be, but my symptoms are not. A doctor once told me that you can't always go strictly just by your blood work. I'm still a work in progress, but at least I'm starting to have a little hope
I thought you were writing my story ~ I wish I could help but I am having the exact same issues. Let me know if you ever find the proper help. Luck to both of us
It sounds like Hashimotos is the newest undiagnosed problem right now. By the way, I take a compounded mix of 10 mcg of T3 and 100 mcg of T4. Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and an intelligent open minded doctor out there for you! You too "msbwell" and all you other ladies. The first time I met my PCP a few years ago, he said "what do you have to teach ME?" If we fired all the other doctors who don't care then it would be so much easier to find the good ones. Why do we continue to financially support the doctors who only care about their next vacation and how much more money they need to get that hot tub in their backyard this summer?
My new doc is in Denver. Are you planning a vacation soon? I believe she may work over the phone with your doc. Anyway, I have to go look her up. Her hubby is in the same office. His name is Brandon Caegon I think. I have the paper work to get tested for an autoimmune issue with my thyroid "Hashimoto", it runs in my family. I just found out.
Good morning all, I was devistated before I was tested for hypo throid. I was a healthy 120 lbs for my older 5'2 frame. In one month I gained 20 lbs. I did not want to go to sleep because when I woke up I was heavier. The weight is the worst... no matter what you do exercise, eat different and some doctors say don't eat some things, the weight still comes. I have never been sent to a specialist, primary doctors feel they can keep everything under control... the mg keep increasing over the years and now at 0.137mg and 178 lbs for my 5'2 body. Lots of veracose vains and other things because it's hard to carry the weight. Wondering if the brand of medicine makes a difference and can you insist on being sent to a specialist. I wouldn't wish this on anyone in the world, I don't care what anyone tell you the weight does not come off easy when you have your body fighting you all the way. There is help out there for almost everything else now it's time for the thyroid.
I've had the same problem. I've been to three different doctors and am still 2 months away from my appointment with the fourth. I know that I feel awful and my blood work was "on the high end of normal". My mom had Hashimoto's thyroiditis and thyroid cancer which led to 2 separate surgeries when she was my age. I also have an aunt, an uncle, and 2 cousins that also have thyroid problems. Yet none of this seems to be enough for anyone to consider treatment. They say that family history is the biggest factor, but half of the doctors I've already seen didn't even care about that. It's very frustrating. I can only hope that this next doctor actually listens to me, otherwise I've run out of options.
Thats alright no doctor will treat me , I have been hurting along time and they just pretty much say your crazy come back in 4 weeks or so. im sick and tired of lazy doctors !!!!!!!!!! what did they go to school for ? , I wish I had one of the guys from the Doctor show they seem to know what to do .and Dr Lisa too.
I can relate the feelings . I just want to feel better LiKE MY OLE SELF AGAIN
