Please go to the Produce The Doctors site and put this idea on there if you haven't already. You can also vote for similar topics like under Women's Health there is a topic :Guest Panel of Oncologist, you may find that under "most popular" in Women's health and I think it's under Disease/Illness as well. Having a guest panel of different specialist is a wonderful idea.
Hi, the incidence of increased illnesses in the Northern Hemisphere is now known to be largely due to Vitamin D deficiency. Go to www.vitamindcouncil.org, click on the Research button and look up studies done on all of the diseases. See www.sunarc.org for geographic prevalence of disease and the connection to vit D deficiency. Scientists have long made the connection between increased incidence specifically of cancers, MS, and other diseases based on geographic location, i.e., those who live above 37 degrees latitude or above the latitude of Atlanta, GA. Yet most doctors are ill informed on this topic. One of the premier vitamin D scientists does his research in your neck of the woods, at Boston Univ Med Center, Dr. Michael F. Holick. Do a Google search and a Youtube search to see the work that he has done and is still doing. He and all of the top vitamin D scientists have gathered as a consortium on www.grassrootshealth.net. I was bedridden for almost a year after 3 yrs of increasing illness until one of 22 doctors finally ran a vitamin D test and found that I was deficient. It took 3 more to figure out how to treat the deficiency that led to my ever-progressing recovery. Doctors are ill informed when it comes to vitamin D. This is a huge reason why you aren’t getting the care you really need in the Northeast. Because of your MS, if you get your vitamin D blood level checked, you may find that your vit D blood level is unusually high. If this is the case, ask your doctor about sarcoidosis and keep trying till you get answers. Please see my profile for more information on vitamin D. Please let me know if you have any questions. Larissa
