Yes we all seem to say why didn't I ask my parents or grandparents or even great grandparents about their lives. I seem to remember much of what my ancestors that were around in my time and I did ask but not always remembering or knowing if all they told me was the truth or built up some to make it seem better. I have photo's and letters dating back into the mid 1800. I know my Scot/Irish side went back to a Clan named DeCrawford and went back possibily to Peter the Great. My Cherokee side is a mystery to a degree but I do know it was through the Martin side and very limited to information. I wished I knew more of my Cherokee history because that heritage cam back very strong in me and some how I feel their spirit.

A Beautiful Lady,
I read that book, Trail of Tears,
I used to read every indian or
slave book I could get my hands
on. I liked to read books that you
could not put down because it was
so captivating. My niece has been
trying to get our family ancestry
together for years, it's a lot of work
and a lot of dead ends. My grandparents
and parents are gone now but a lot of info
is out there somewhere. Sludge
