Thank you Mrs11Alive for your input. I usually use (not sure of the brand --- dont have any here at the moment ) which is a "powder-like" texture that i caould put in like oatmeal or something. I needed to add more water to the oatmeal, but there isn't a taste which makes it easy to use.
I buy my flaxseed from Kroger. It is HODGESON MILL brand, milled flaxseed. It is ground and it can be put on anything. I mix it into my smoothie; into my herb-encrusted pork loin; over my yogurt. It is multipurpose and it works in this form.
P.S. I understand that omega 6 actually increases inflammation. Omega 6 is found in animal fats and in some vegetable oils.
An aside: Pregnant women who take omega 3 supplements like fish oil, flaxseed or chiaseed give birth to children with an average of 10 points higher IQs.
I consciously had to add some Omega 3 to my diet after dieting and avoiding fats for awhile. I began to feel surprisingly tired, sometimes fuzzy headed and dizzy. When I added in flaxseed oil/and or ground flaxseed to my oatmeal, it made all the difference immediately. My endurance at the gym increased significantly. Also, the dizziness and fuzzy headedness disappeared right away. Chia seeds are also a great source of Omega 3. I wouldn't worry much though about getting enough omega 6. Most people's everyday diets supply more than enough.
Hi, I've read that too but wasn't sure how well it worked and how much you needed to take to make it all work. And if it needs to be capsules or the flaxseed you can sprinkle over cereal or in recipes.
Let me clarify something. Melissa saw the result she did because this particular oil reduced inflammation in her body. Melissa has obvious health disorders relating to inflammation in her body. People can have high blood pressure for many different reasons. Inflammation is not the one and only cause of high blood pressure. Cholesterol is notorious for causing blood vessels to become inflamed. Some vessels just don't tolerate cholesterol and the vessels become irritated. Then there's genetic high blood pressure. My Mother wouldn't find flaxseed helpful. She's a tiny petit woman who weighs 100 lb and her cholesterol is like 160, which is a super great cholesterol level to have. If she got off her BP meds, her BP would jump to 280/150 in a short time. To spite her weight, good cholesterol, and overall good health...she just has a very bad genetic disposition to have high blood pressure. I'm all for alternative therapies, just be careful when exploring such therapies. :)

I have heard and read it helps in the digestive system and helps keep it regulated.
