Comments made by young doctor regarding liver transplants for alcoholics . Been  living with end stage liver disease for 6 years and have survived several close calls.  Does Doc know it all even know how to cure the common cold?  The news that the newest research indicates that sooner is better , irregardless of other factors including active alcoholism.  I quit years ago, cigarettes too, before ever going to the mandatory counseling.  I do not want a transplant, the whole thing is rather gruesome and the anti-rejection drugs are costly and must be take forever and every drug has some sort of side effects. I can write a very thick book, but I had to restart my painting and remodeling company due to financial reasons and the desire to help put people back to work. Our country needs real jobs for Americans right now. I will not be deterred, God willing, despite having a trip to the ICU  as I was nearly done with one recent job. Yes, I am a stubborn old fool,but I am not willing
 to just sit around and wait to die
