Hey all....
The past 4 days I have had a horrible pain, it is indescribable, really. I started under my right rib cage, the radiated to the side, then to the back. It is worse at night. It began to burn, itch, sting, (I EVEN LOOKED UP SYMPTOMS OF SHINGLES!).
I have a call in to my doctor, but it will probably be a day or so before I hear anything. I was ready to go to the ER last night it was so bad. I can take pain, but this has been 4 days and it is no better. It really feels like a giant gas bubble....with the movement and radiating from front to back. I'm at a loss at what else to take.
Here's hoping I hear from my Dr. soon. I don't want to go if it is nothing, but it has to be something to hurt for so long.
Anyone ever have anything like this?

Yes...gallbladder...google gallbladder and symptoms, gallstones,......and in the meantime eat a low-fat diet and see if it helps some. That is all I remember from school but the low fat diet should reduce the pain. I'm not a doctor but did learn about this in school.

Linda if it was a start to having shingles the pain would be on the left upper side.My daughter went through that and took her to ER cause she does have the shingles virus,they gave her a shot of morphine only thing that would stop the pain.
But you might try looking up gallbladder sounds like the signs of that,or the ducts that go to your pancreas.

I guess you were right about it being shingles.I was wrong.I guess that's why I don't have the letters MD after my name.Sorry you are in so much pain.You take care of yourself and tell hubby we said to take extra good care of you.

I have experience a simular kind of pain in my side, without the buring! Mind pain is bording me now for the past two year or so. It sometimes start from the right hip and goes up to my under my rips cage.
Then it would move over to my lift rib. It also hurt most at night when I sleeps. I always wonder what is wrong with my side.
I even went to the ER a few times about it and all they told me is that I have some type of influlmitary thing the don't quit remember what it is exactly! my sister told me she even experience the same thing. I also notic during my that time of month it hurts the most. I really wouldn't mind know what causing this discomefort in my side.
