Both my husband and I have been doing the 17 day diet. We are nearly ready for cycle 2. After being on the diet for two weeks - we have had amazing results. I don't mean just weight either. We both feel so much better. We have more energy, more motivation, no more digestion problems, and have de-toxed out all the sugar and carbs. I can admit I think I was addicted to carbs and fast food - and I literally had withdrawals around day 3 - 5 in the first cycle. I had my first ever migraine headache. I know a good part of it was carb withdrawal as well as dehydration. Once that detox happened - it's been awesome.
I haven't had soday of any type for nearly a month - and that alone has been great. When we started - we took our measurements - and we have been pleased with the results. We both have an average of two inches in our biceps, chest, waist, hips, thighs, and calves.
The best part of it - is how we feel. I keep saying - and I may have said it in my previous blog post - we feel thinner than we look. We feel amazing. We have a lot more energy. That in itself is AWESOME. Even after I do the 17 day diet DVD - I have been able to do more minutes on my elliptical and we have been walking 2.5 miles everyday except for a couple when it was too cold/rainy outside.
Before we started this adventure, I was having major digestion problems. I was constantly bloated and always feeling nauseous or had an upset stomach. I haven't had one single problem since we started. I'm not a big yogurt fan - so it hasn't been the yogurt - but the overall diet.
The biggest piece of advice I can give especially to someone like me who counted on daily fast food, Mtn. Dew, couldn't live without carbs is this: Stick with the first three - 5 rough days. Once you get through that - you will feel amazing. You will know what clean living is all about. You will love how you feel.
We can't wait for the next phase. So excited to keep going. So far our weight loss has been 13 lbs for me - 15 lbs for him.
