So I started the 17 Day Diet this week. I am doing good, first few days brought tiredness and headaches. I am sure I am past that hump. It is great, I don't feel hungry, I am enjoying eating and realizing that using my nearly 4 yr old as an excuse isn't gonna cut it. I kept making myself believe that I couldn't keep her happy with our routine and diet at the same time. Well I am glad to say I am wrong. She has been able to enjoy her HAPPY MEAL and me still eat heathly. She is even on board by saying Momma lets go walk. It is so wonderful to have my little cheerleader, I have told her mommy is dieting to loose weight to be healthier for both of us and she is constantly telling me what is healthy and not healthy and what I need to be doing.
This is my first weekend so fingers crossed it goes well. Breakfast was great now moving onto the rest of the day.

4 is a great age to start teaching a child to be healthy. Introduce her to every fruit & veggetable you can & make you OWN version of a Happy Meal.....the fast food version doesn't do our kids any favors!!!
I became a"mother" to a 4 year old when I met my husband 14 years ago. It was the beginning of my downward spiral in healthy eating. Too many trips to fast food & finishing her fries. Too many kiddie partys eating sugary treats & not enough tips to the park. I rearranged my eating habits to please them. If only I had held out & made healthy eating a bigger priority. I would not have gained the 60+ pounds that I did. Lord knows how many my husband has gained ...& my stepdaughter.....today she eats nothing but junk most of the time & is a carb addict. It has affected her mental health. She is simply not getting the nutririon that her brain needs.
Good luck on your journey. Keep that precious little one on the right path right along side of you. She will thank you one day for it.
Congratulations on day 4! I just bought the book yesterday evening.. and have been reading like crazy! I'm excited to get started any tips?
I am on day four too! I am experiencing headaches and fatigue too, beginning to wonder if it was just me! I used to drink 3 cans of diet coke a day and I have stopped that too, I just thought I was going through withdrawals!
Congrats! You can do this. I know its hard to have your family eat other things than you and hopefully you cna get her to eat what you are eating plus a few good carbs for her growing little self too. You'll be doing her a huge favor by teaching her early how to eat and enjoy healthy foods. Wish I'd done a better job of this as a Mom to my three sons. Son #2 is doing this new eating plan with me now so we are headed to success together.
I'm on C1 Day 1, and I've noticed a headache this evening, too. I don't usually get headaches, so I hope I get past this hump like you! Sounds like you're doing great. I'm trying to fix the same meals for both my husband and I, but I make sure he gets some carbs along with his meal (he is blessed with a great metabolism and has never been overweight since we met 40+ years ago...darn him). I wish you well...it's nice to read about others on the plan and how it's going for them. Thanks for sharing!
