Community service at the seafood festival in Grant FL helps the public to understand that today's ALS / Paramedic ambulance is practibly a rolling Emergency Room. BLS= Basic life support with EMT's on board. ALS= Advanced life support w/ Paramedics. This means that they can perform services like intubation, pacing, crics', 12 lead EKG's and administer emergency medications through IV's,jugular veins and intracardiac to name a few. It's not a fire truck nor a cadillac with a light on top so call 911 when needed. It's always a bad idea to drive yourself during an emergency, most paramedics arrive within 4-6 minuets of recieving a call.
