Oil Slick...and other Skin Problems

There are always commercials, products, and options for people with extremely dry skin, and there are OTC products and those prescription meds that are for really bad cases of acne, but what about people with oily skin?  I am a young adult now, and I have always had EXTREMELY oily skin/hair.  Most adults tell me that I will appreciate it when I'm older - that I won't look so old - but I think being nicknamed "oil slick" is evidence enough as to why I feel that this is a problem.  I've tried using OTC topical "oil controls", exfoliating and/or washing more/less, and using powder to get rid of my shine (which literally comes through again 15 minutes later).  Nothing works!  I am part Native American, and my grandmother had the oily skin until she hit menopause...I don't want to wait that long!  I don't want to make my skin go the opposite direction (dry and old looking), I already have excess dead skin under all the oil, so I don't want to make it worse; I simply want it to look like I've showered for more than 15 minutes after my shower!  I understand the other problems of excess "dry" dead skin and acne - I have those too, but nothing is as prominent of a problem as my overly-active sebaceous glands.  Anyone have this problem and found something that makes them look/feel "normal" as far as skin goes?  Or even better...Anyone have extremely oily skin/hair in combination with the excess dead "dry" (or more like rough) skin cells (that seem to regenerate like rabbits no matter how often or rarely I exfoliate)?  LoL
