Hubby Bob is a cardiologist who has focused for decades on metabolic syndrome, the relationship between weight, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease (heart attack & stroke), Dr. Schneider has authored ground-breaking articles for the American Heart Journal and the New York State Journal of Medicine, as well as written numerous books & articles about illness avoidance for the general public.
I'm a Heart Smart and Diabetes Recipe cook, who’s spent decades getting it better with each new finding in Nutrition, Cardiology, and Diabetes Research. A former staffer for Newsweek Magazine, I am now a health writer and maintain the site TheCookAndTheCardiologist.com.
As a further note, I'm developing new recipes both to help people lose weight, and for diabetes sufferers type 1 & type 2.
I've invented a way to substitute protein powder for flour! Also to use no sugar of any kind (incl honey, molasses, brown sugar, dried fruit etc). "Natural" sugar is still sugar: your body doesn't know the difference.
Using protein powder, Splenda, and milled flaxseed (instead of butter and margarine), I make luscious ALL PROTEIN, NO CARBS BROWNIES, PANCAKES, BLONDIES, ALL-PROTEIN BREAD, ROLLS, PIES, PIE CRUST, PIZZA CRUST and every crave-worthy baked goody.
