I had my son about 5 months ago. I had the normal pregnancy stretch marks (hips, butt, belly) right after his birth. But about two months ago I got really large, dark stretch marks that go from my armpit to my inner elbow. I am so embarrassed that I wear long sleeved shirts all the time.
Before I gave birth I was 135 lbs. (I'm 5,3) I gained about 45 lbs. total during my pregnancy, but it wasn't gained quickly. I am currently about 160 lbs - I haven't been losing the weight quickly. I eat plently of fruits and veggies. And my mother, or any woman in my family that I know of, doesn't have ANY stretch marks. I don't know what is causing my stretch marks and I don't know what to do and want some advice.

So I don't know if this will be of any help to you, but I too have stretch marks there and I am only 19. I have never been pregnant or had a child either. Mine are the unlucky result of my connective tisue disorder. You see we all have this stuff called connective tissue that makes up our body. It is what holds bones together, because it is in ligaments and tendons, it is in cartilage, it is even responsible for the wrinkles we all get and the bags under our eyes. You may of heard of one type of connective tissue called collagen, they sell it as a wrinkle treatment. Anyways, When you get pregnant, these tissues stretch, or even sometimes when your not thye stretch. Really your stretch marks are probably the result of something that caused your connective tissue to stretch beyond what it was suppose to. For me, this is super easy as I have a defect we will call it in the connective tissue, I basically don't have much of it, and the stuff I do have is super weak, therefore stretching very easy leaving me with stetch marks. I don't know you could possibly ask your doctor.
There are two ways of stretch mark removal - laser removal or anti stretch mark creams.Laser removal is a method which as excellent reviews and is much quicker the creams. Laser procedures really way down to overall costs. Depending on the numbers of treatments you are going to require the procedure could cost you anything from $700 to $5000. If you have the money spare its totally worth it. But in my honest opinion it is not worth saving up for when you could have excellent results with a huge selection of stretch mark cream. I personally prefer stretch mark removal creams for one very distinct reason. They provide are low cost meaning you don't have to commit thousands of dollars, they are much slower than other methods but if you are prepared to wait for results then what's the rush?
