About Me
Hi! I am a wife and mother. I taught school for 26 years and recently retired early due to health issues. I own two cats and one puppy! My puppy is a Multe-Tzu--3/4 Maltese and 1//4 Shih-Tzu.
I have been diagnosed with Lyme Disease. I didn't realize that people living in the south could also be at-risk for Lyme. Years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia for a lack of a better diagnosis--not a soul thought to test me for Lyme...
I'm an animal lover, Christian, antique paperweight collector...

Welcome to this forum. Thanks for being my friend.
What a cute puppy. Are you still troubles with fibromyalgia and Lyme disease? What medications are you using to get relief from these diseases? I wish you the best.
Carolyn
Hi! Thanks for the link... I listened to the Lyme Discussion. It was very eye opening! I think many physicians are afraid to treat Lyme patients.
I am now a member of Lyme Friends. My username is Smitty47. Please look for me on the site.
I'm also interested in knowing what treatments you have received. Do you see Dr. Forrester? We need to compare notes. You are the only person I have met from Louisiana with Lyme Disease.
It's time for me to get off of the computer! Thanks again for all the info!
Robin
Hi Robin,
Glad I met you too. I spend most of my time on mdjunction when I'm at my computer. They are my new family of lymies. I have met several people on mdjunction from Louisiana. I haven't met anyone from the lymefriend one yet. I just can't believe it. The doctors here say there is NO LYME in LOUISIANA. Shows me how much they REALLY know.
You might be interested in this http://wamu.org/programs/dr/09/04/20.php#25417 . I listened to it this morning. It's a lyme discussion that took place yesterday I think.
Bye for now...Sheila
Hi! I see Dr. J. Forrester in Pineville. He had enough fortitude to test for Lyme. It certainly would be interesting to find out how many people living in Louisiana have Lyme. I would be very interested in helping to start up a Louisiana Lyme Group, but I do not know where to begin. I live in NW Louisiana--Bossier City to be exact. Have you met many people on this site with Lyme Disease from LA? Thank you for the link to join Lyme Friends. I plan to join the site/group and keep my username on this site. I'm so glad to have met you. TTYL

Hi Robin,
Yes I do see the doctor in Pineville. What part of La. are you from? I'm from the Baton Rouge area. I can't believe how many people I'm meeting from Louisiana that have this disease. It is UNREAL!
I'm sooooooo tired of feeling like I have my whole life. Wow I agree...we do need a Louisiana Lymie group. We will have to find out about starting one. Are you a member of www.Lymefriends.com ? They actually have a chat room where you can go in and chat. I went in there a few minutes ago.
Bye for now...Sheila
Hi! I read your profile it is very similar to mine. Do you see a Lyme doc. in Pineville, LA? I too drive a bit over two hours to see him! It is interesting to meet another person with Lyme from Louisisana. I too was given the Western Blot test for Lyme--checking IgG and IgM... My doctor sent my lab work to IGeneX labs and it came back positive. He also administered the CD57 test. My results were in the abnormal range, comfirming Lyme. I've been misdiagnosed with numerous health problems. Finally I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia becasue doctors didn't know what was wrong with me. I never have been well or healthy. Now I know why... A good friend, told me about the physician I am using for Lyme in Pineville. "I am glad to finally be diagnosed with something that isn't all in my head."
I used to be a member at mdjunction, but asked for my account to be closed. I'm now a member of www.dailystrength.org. I belong to the fibromyalgia and Lyme groups. It is a great site, too. I look forward to getting to you. We need a club for Louisiana Lymies!!! LOL
Robin
Hi,
Thanks for the friend request. Are you a member of www.mdjunction.com ? If so, let me know and I'll add you there. If not, you should come over and check it out. I joined a few months ago and I'm so glad I did. There are so many people with Lyme there, also Fibro and CFS and all the other things you can think of.
They are an awesome group to talk to and my new GREAT FAMILY. So if you get a chance, email me back...
Sheila
