Day 10 Of The 17 Day Diet :(

I was so excited to post my last blog 2 days ago as I had lost 8.6 lbs since starting the 17 DD on Monday the 11th, but since that last post I've been at exactly the same weight now 3 mornings in a row. Although I'm happy I haven't gained, I'm really upset that I haven't lost ANYTHING. Even be happy with 1/2 a lb right now. The weather here has been crappy as we had a huge snow storm again last night and it's been really cold and windy so I have to admit I haven't been taking my dog for walks like I was in the beginning but I still have not cheated at all. Not 1 tiny sip of soda or 1 tiny bite of something bad...which has been REALLY hard. I feel like after "tourtering" myself these last few days it's all been for nothing. I was losing alot of weight before and now nothing. I wanted to hit 10 lbs and now I feel like it's just going to end up the same as all the other diets and then I get discouraged and quit.

Has anyone else hit this bump this early in the diet? :( I'm sad.

Hey girl. When else have you been able to drop 8.6 lbs. in 9 days. Give your body a break. Hold on tight to that rope cause when you do you will see another good drop. Your body wants to hold on to what it has but if and when you keep at it YOU WILL WIN!!! Also that walk that you haven't taken does make a differerence.

I'm only on day 1 of this diet, but I've dieted many times before and I feel your pain.  Sometimes it feels like you are killing yourself and sticking to the diet so good and the scale won't budge...don't give up though...8.6 pounds is great, don't sell yourself short.  Try to look at it this way..you've been able to actually eat, and haven't gained any weight...thats encouraging.  I'll bet you will start to see the numbers go down again in the next day or so.  Now, if only I could take my own advise...lol...good luck!

Thanks for the comment! I know that's alot to lose in 9 days, it's just frustrating seeing those good numbers everyday then nothing for 3 days in a row. :( I'm definately getting on my treadmill the rest of the week. Hoping I see a change tomorrow so it keeps my good ambition going as far as eating well.

Been there; been there; been there! I HEAR you! Now, take a deep breath... read what the others wrote about your success in 9 days - it's fabulous! - and then consider the answers to some of these questions...

1) Have you been drinking lots of water (not coffee, tea, diet drinks etc)?

2) Have you had enough exercise? It is SOOOO key. Every single day, you have to ramp up your heartrate.

3) Tough question... are you perhaps limiting your food too much? By that I mean, have you eaten enough veggies, enough lean meat, enough yogurt and fruit? If your answer is no, you might be putting your body into a false sense of deprivation, such that it is slowing down your metabolism as there is not much food in you.

It's important during these momentary pauses to really look hard at what you're doing; there might be something you can change.  Good Luck!  I'm sure you'll see a difference within a day or two!

I think that is normal.  Keep in mind it takes a deficit of 3500 calories for one pound.  I also suggest not to weigh as much.  That helped me.  Maybe just weight until 17 days are up!
