hi anita how are i'm majda
HappyMomof4,
Thank you for your comment. My daughter has a mild cognitive delay, but from all my studies and confering with my doctor we think she has cerebral palsy. I would check further into your daughters education. I don't know what the laws in your state are, but for a child who has the kind of disability that she does they would fall under what is called alternate assessments and would be exempt from the typical graduation requirements. I live in Ohio and my daughter did not pass all the state tests and she was able to be exempt. I don't know how much knowledge you have, but when I first started looking into what my daughter's rights were for her education I found a really good website that had a lot of information. I was able to find an advocate locally to confer with and an attorney who let me call for free 3 times. I won't put it in the standard web address format because I am not sure it will get through because of the terms the doctors have. A good place to go is wrightslaw then a dot then put com. This site is run by two lawyers who specialize in special education law and they care very much about the parents and students rights. I hope this information helps and if you have any questions let me know. I know it is not easy to deal with a child like we have, but with God's help we are able to do it. These types of kids have such a special love that I don't see out of the average person. Take care and God Bless.
