About Me
I am a 50yr woman who lives right outside of Atlanta. Ga. In my younger years I was invloved in major athletic activites including martial arts USA open competions, softball, running, horseback riding and many others. At 24 I was invloved in an accident with a drunk driver who hit me in the rearend at 67 mph and my neck was broken .Exactly 10 years later I was hit again in the rearend by a woman putting on her makeup at 45mph and that riped open 3 discs in my lumbar spine.. Although doctors told me I would never work again and I would be in a wheelchair by the time I hit 40, I fought hard and worked another 24years. In my late 40's I did subcum to my injuries and am now totally disabled. During these years and the inability to pursue my sports I have gain a ton of weight. I found myself at 309 and I decided enough. I took a little money out of my disability checks each month and finally saved enough money to hire a personal trainer to help me in my endeavor to loose the weight. So far after 6 weeks I have lost 30pds. I battle weight due to medication I must take and spinal injections to help with the pain I experience. I am determine to get back to my heathly weight of 145-155 even though I battle the medication that cause tremendous weight gain.
My passion in life has always been around animals. I was so blessed to work with exotic animals for 4 years at a rescue center. My profile picture shows a young tiger cub that I found after birtth but was not breathing. I was able to resuscitate the newborn and I named him Taj. He was a lovely tiger. I am also a dog trainer and work with a rescue center to train dogs that are hard to rehome or ones that have behavior problems. I am not able to work there fulltime because of my disablitity but I do as much as I can.
I have 2 australian shepards, Tanner and Rosie, and they are the joy in my life. When I am down and can't move much they lay with me and keep my company.
My moto for life is "We stand tall as angels when we stoop to help a friend". It keeps me grounded and focus on things that are of real importance.
