I am a 52 year old wife, mother of two beautiful girls and one adorable grandaughter who is the love of my life. In 1999 I had the first of four back surgeries, the last was in 2006. At that time I was already seeing a Neurologist and being treated for MS symptoms. I was "officially" diagonised with MS at the end of 2006 and told I had had it for several years. I am a retired Detective who had been in law enforcement for over 20 years and retired when I felt it was to dangerous to my co-workers for me to continue. I battled depression after that but I have decided it is time I start communicating with people again and get out of my shell (which I created myself). I have learned alot by watching the Dr.'s and hope to learn more. I have followed Montel William's story closely and he is a real inspiration to me as well as others. After all Faith is Hope. I look forward to making friends on this site. God Bless you all.

Hello! Thank you for adding me on. I haven'te been in here for a while but it was nice to see that someone reached out to me in my EMAIL BOX. My husband was diagnosed with MS about two years to date. Since then he has had 4 attacks. Unfortunately this last one put him as a DIABETIC! The Steroid treatments and every other day treatment of betaseron is working against his body. At this point we are seeking alternative treatments. My parents live in P.A. and are seeing a Natural Doctor whom has CURED many individuals from non curable diseases as well as individuals in their worst and most severe case of Cancer! We have the Lord on our side and between our Prayers, FAith, Hope and help from our New Doctor, we feel that we have a tremendous chance of being the next MIRACLE STORY. We'd love to share with you our progress if you wish.
On the other side, I have read about your conditions and my prayers are with you! I am sure that battling all of these issues has been some ordeal for you as well. Someone told my husband once,...
GOD LOVES EVERYONE ALL THE SAME and NON DIFFERENT, but those that have conditions like these or have gone through some TREMENDOUS ORDEAL has been kept CLOSE to HIM. He has a special type of LOVE for people like you and my husband. NOT EVERYONE in this LIFE can ENDURE what has been PRESENTED IN BOTH OF YOUR LIVES!j.
Howdy Faith!
Thank you so much for your message. It made me cry! No!That's a good thing! You are the first one other than my Mom that i have ever talked to about the M.S.It's good because maybe i can understand what she goes through better.Of course seeing her go through all the depression and symptoms i definitely understood that part of it.
My Mom and Dad live up in Ohio.My Husband and kids,we moved down here to Mocksville 3 yrs. ago.Lord do i miss them!We go back once a yr.I made my Husband make me the promise of going up ther once a yr. or i wouldn't move.I love it down here, but like i said i miss them so much.I am the only child.I was born and raised in Ohio. It's too cold up there!!!Shoot, sometimes i think it's too cold here.
What do you do know to pass the time?My Mom does counter cross stitch. She said that is the only thing that keeps her hands going.I don't have the patience for that kinda thing!!
I just wanted to let you know how much your message meant to me!!!Keep taking care!Keep staying strong! And God Bless You!!
Hi Faith, Thanks for the add. I was actually diagnosed with MS the same time Montell was - Feb 99. I believe my symptoms go back about 25 years though. But because back then MS wasn't as quickly thought of as a possible diagnosis, and my symptoms went away on their own after about 2 months, there was never a diagnosis - maybe a pinched nerve. It's me who figures it's probably connected. I have never been asked a deep history about my past, but also my mom has passed away and my dad doesn't remember all of the childhood ailments I had such as possibly chickenpox, so who's to say if that virus may keep us connected. I did have mono in about 1993, but it was well after what I think was my first undiagnosed symptom, but before my official diagnosis. I have a first cousin on my father's side who also has MS. I'm originally from upstate NY and I've heard that there is a greater concentration in people from northern states, for some reason who have MS. No idea why that would be
Hi neighbor...lol you are just across the way from me! I'm only about an hour from the coast in NC. One day my husband and I will take a weekend trip to the mtns. We drove through them on our way home from Nashville after his daughter graduated from Army basic training in MO back in 2003. Didn't stop though. If we had more time and money we would have. Have a good weekend.

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear about your having MS, but so glad to hear that you are fighting back at it after the grieving, I had to do that too in a very dark time after I was dx'ed in '99, I did'nt know when the depression would end, but it seemed such a long time though. But I was so glad when I was finally ready to "enjoy every second" I can and that's my motto of life since that time. I have a lot of bad and hard days but I try to enjoy every good "minute" or however long it lasts to fullest. That is wonderful that you had such a wonderful career in your life!! I also have hidradenitis suppurativa which is also an auto immune disease that further weakens me as it causes alot of infection and pain. It was very nice meeting you and God bless you too very much and please do enjoy every second you can!!
