Today's show dealt with personal, sensitive issues and rather than the yelling and arguing, I'd love to see more empathy. The truth is we live in a society that worships our outer appearances and doesn't really value inner beauty. To hear the Asian women talking about eye surgery or Down Syndrome children having surgery to make them look more 'normal' - isn't that just a reflection of how much we value so-called conventional 'beauty' and reject true inner beauty. There is a story that I've always loved in the Old Testament in 1 Samuel 16:7 that says that God doesn't look at the outer man, as we do, but He looks at the heart. It's up to parents, loved ones, friends, mentors and everyone who touches the lives of children and young people to make them feel loved, absolutely beautiful and treasured. If we did that I suspect plastic surgery would be the last thing they'd think to have....

I really enjoyed ready your blog Drmillieb, I hope that the people reading this will understand how we as people are so quick to judge others because they look a little different than we do. Please look at the inner person of the individual so you can see what a loving caring heart they have. Jillian is going to have a very hard time on this program because of the fact she feels like all people should look like her and they have to work as hard as she does. She cannot understand most people are not like her and have the finances to do the things she does. She really needs to tone herself down and quiet critizising people and giving them complexes. Thanks for your comments.
