I recently had a baby in April. I expected to loss the 40 pounds I gain no problem. Here I am 8 months later still struggling to loss 30. I don't know what else to do. I work out by swimming at least 2-3 times a week. All I drink is water. I do have a glass of apple Juice in the morning and I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Im too busy to snack so I really can't see why the weight wont shead off. My mother keeps telling me that it takes up to a year after having a baby for your body to go back. Ahh, I just don't know what to do. If anyone has any advice please help!

We'll it really depends on a few things. I breastfed and was back to my pre-prego weight by 3-4 months. Breastfeeding really sheds the pounds! Even now that my son is 10 months, and I still breastfeed exclusively, I eat like crazy and don't gain. As we start to introduce solids I'm sure I will have to cut back on the eating though. MY husband always pokes fun at me b/c I eat like a teenage boy right now.
If you are not breastfeeding a lot of it has to do with your eating habits and activity level. I would recommend introducing pilates to your weekly regimen. Pilates is a wonderful way to build core strength and overall body balance. John Pilates studied two different modern dance techniques to form his pilates for the everyday person. I was a professional ballet dancer and I have a significant amount of training with pilates. Add 1 or 2 classes in a week and you will see great results. Usually you can find classes at your local YMCA or you can order a dvd. The great thing about pilates is that there is an option for all skill levels. You can make any exercise easier or harder depending on your ability and all you need is a mat.
I hope this helps and feel free to ask me any questions. I'd be happy to share my knowledge.
