DrOrdon's Blog

Welcome!

If you have clicked on my blog, it means you have seen our show The Doctors. The other three docs and I are very pleased you have visited our site. It just goes to show that our audience is hungry — no starving — for the real deal in medical information. There are a lot of reasons for that.

Today's world is a combination of too much and not enough information! Doctors sometimes feel resistant to inform their patients in our medical-legally volatile society. Information can be misconstrued and twisted to mean something unintended. At the same time, there is the tsunami of information published on the World Wide Web. Much of it useful, if you can find it! Much of it just plain wrong.

That's where we come in. The Doctors — Travis, Lisa, Jim and I — hope to bring it to you fresh, relevant and understandable information. I, for one, am delighted to be a part of it.

Dr. Drew Ordon

Thank you for coming up with such a great show!!!

This show has taught me so much! Its wonderful to see the procedures you do on live tv and not behind the curtains as other shows would.

Keep up with it!

I recently saw your show on a mommy makeover and I have to admit, I'm SO jealous. Just like every other woman whos had children, notices that some parts of her body have been rearranged. I'm a 27 yr. old SAHM of 2 boys and I feel like my body looks much older that my age. My breasts look like half moons that I could easily tie in a bow and I have stretch marks in every possible area from my breasts down to my belly, wrapped around my hips. I won't even look at my body in the mirror because it disgusts me. I feel too young to have a body like this.  My friends tell me, "Oh, you look great" but I tell them "Well you haven't seen me naked." My husbands is so supportive but feels like my saggy boobs (from which I breast fed 2 kids with) and hideous stretch marks will just fix themselves. I recorded the show on your mommy makeover because you said that most stretch marks will not go away, thinking I could finally convince my hubby that my stretch marks are here to stay and after watching the show he said, "Ya right, he's just saying that because he's a plastic surgeon who wants business." My husband is in the health industry and still doesn't understand. I'm a  healthy, average weight 27 yr. old woman who will never wear a 2 piece again. UGH!

Dear Dr. Ordon,

You are my hero. I took a day off about a month ago and was channel surfing when I ran across The Doctors. I DVR this show everyday, and I take what I learned from the show back to fellow workers. I brag up this show  so much and share what I've learned.

Why you are my hero. You care about people.. not in it just for the money, sincere, and appear to be very knowledgeable.

  • I wish you could fly to Oregon to provide me with some good advice on Lipo, and/or tummy tuck. I've been telling my husband for years that I would like to get this done, but he tells me that it is a waste of money and that I just need to exercise my abs/waist line. I've heard that you can work on your abs, but if your muscles have pulled away from your ribs, then it does no good. You did confirm this on this lucky lady who gets to  have the tummy tuck.  I think I fall in this category, but he doesn't believe me and just laughs. I have the lovely jelly belly, back fat, and cup cakes (love handles). This is where I carry my weight. Oh, I also inherited the big upper arms, which I hate. Does it cost approx. $10,000 for lipo/tummy tuck?

i love THE DOCTORS!  it is such an amazing show. i cant believe how much ive learn from it. i especially like the mommy makeovers. i think its terrific how you can change a moms life and raise her self esteem higher then its ever been. honestly i am jealous!! i admire you so much.  i am a 27 year old mother of 2. i have lots of energy and love to be active, but you'd never know it by looking at me. i am 5' 10" tall and weighed 140lbs before i got pregnant the first time... i now weigh a whopping 211lbs. i am COVERED in stretch marks. i gained over 60lbs with my first pregnancy and 30lbs with the second. i feel like im stuck. i feel younger then i look. i always wear big clothes to try to hide my body. its definately taken a toll on my relationship with my fiance. i never want him to see me naked. i never let him touch me because im ashamed and embarassed about how i look. i think i would be a great candidate for lypo and a tummy tuck... oh heck while im at it, how about a breast lift!! lol.... how do i know if i can fix my tummy by working out... or if surgery is my only option?

Dr. Ordon you are an Angel!!  Thank you for caring about others & sharing information with us.  My question for you (I would love a reply) is, Have you heard of "Microcurrent facial/body" and is it safe for long-term use?  My boyfriend has me convinced in it and I feel it would be useful as I am starting to lose weight.  I do not want the saggy skin & I do workout with weights for toning.  I would like to know your professional opinion.  Thank you. ><>

Dear Dr. Ordon,

I love that you blog with your fans!

I do have an unusual question for you, it is in regards to those gorgeous designer scrubs you wore on the show one day, I believe you said they were made in Italy. They were light in color (perhaps ivory or silver?) and if I recall correctly they were made of silk, they had a belted waist and flattering fit that was not as baggy as typical American scrubs - looked fantastic on you! {maybe we should buy a pair for Dr. Stork? ~L~}

Anyways, I have searched alllllllllll over the net for those scrubs but unfortunately could not find them:-(

Would you please tell me the name of the company that made them and/or how to get in touch with them to order?

Thanking you in advance, Melinda

Most people are seeking accurate, reliable, concise and truthful health information. The way health topics are hyped up and used to increase ratings by the media is so unnecessary. People then get all jacked up and full of misinformation. I have been in health care for 30 years and understand how important your show is. I hope all four of you continue to enjoy participating and providing invaluable information so many people can learn from.

Thanks again for your time and interest,

Jan Walsh

Dr Ordon,  Tomorrow I going in for a free consultaton for a Lifestyle Lift procedure. I'll be 60 yrs old next month and have jowels and droopy eyelids. How valid is this procedure and other than looking for board certification and references what else should I ask? I can't afford a facelift. I have no idea what this procedure costs, or how long it will last. I've seen it on tv and have read about it on the internet. I'm very nervous about being scammed and having a horrible outcome. HELP please.

I think this show is AWESOME! Really awesome! What a smart idea to make a show like this. Its so Informative on so many different subjects. You all have great knowledge on what your talking about.....plus its entertaining. I love seeing how you guys interact with each other and the people that come on the shows.

I do have a question...  =)

I live in Ontario Canada and recently read that botox can help migraine sufferers. Mine are so severe thats when I get them I always end up vomiting a few time during the day. It usually only last 24 hrs. Oh and I might add I am always poppin tylenol sinus in hopes of not getting a headache which in turn, turns to a migraine. I go through ALOT of those every day/night which i know is not good for my body in the long run.

Anyhow, I am very curious after reading about botox and migraines on what you think?

Keep up the good work everyone!

Everyone in my family watches and learns from your program. We have 5 daughters, which of course we do worry about now. But I leave their lives in Gods hand and I/We (hubby) do remind them to check themselves daily. I/We (hubby) tell all our friends about being careful and to check themselves too,be they  male or female they need to check. So in closing I am PRAYING YOU will at least write me back and let me know you have at least read my letter. I understand there are others in the world needing and writing to you also with bigger needs.
Thank you for taking the time to hear me.
Bless you all in everything you do for everyone.

My Husband is my High School Sweetheart and My Best Friend. He tells me he loves me no matter what my chest looks like, I believe him, but I hide my chest at time s because of the scars. I will show ANYONE what the affects of Beast Cancer can be, but when I look in the mirror I am sadden by the view. I use to have beautiful breast 48 DD, now I have one about a 42C and the other doesn't have any uniformity to it. I have to stuff that side to make them even. I wrote to a radio show here in the Bay Area, I even sent them before, during and after photos. This show brags about being such advocates for Beast Cancer, BUT they have NEVER even acknowledged me. I have written them many times to no avail. I sent them very personal photos.

PART 3 OF 4

The implant sets off to the side, I have a large indent on that side of my chest. The other breast was reduced with large scars and scar tissue that hurts at times. I have no problem with sending you photos. I have no problem with coming to your location, if you are able to help me. After a year of chemo & the hair loss I have continued to speak out to ANYONE and EVERYONE about checking themselves on a regular basis. I speak to complete strangers about it. I was in training May 2003 for the Avon Beast Cancer 3 day walk in San Francisco, Ca. when I found my lump. By November 2003 the surgery was performed. The following year 2004 was a year of monthly chemo 4-6 hour pushes. By 2005 I was back in training for the walk again. I raised over $3,500.00 for the cause. I walked those three days by myself, met a lot of wonderful people and gained a lifetime experience. I am reaching out to you all to please help make me a complete woman.

Can you help with my dis figuration after Breast Cancer?
I am now a six year survivor, but my problem is after the mastectomy my husbands company changed Insurance providers and the plastic surgeon that was  doing the work on me wouldn't except the new Insurance. Now that this is an "Existing Condition", I will only receive limited help from the Insurance Provider. So my breast has never been completed. I have NO NIPPLE, and a very large scar across my chest including under my left arm where 21 Lymph nodes were removed for testing. The Surgeon had tried a new type of implant on me, and when I went in for him to inject more saline solution he actually punctured it and over night it all leaked out. Upon waking the next morning it was flat hanging skin. So back into surgery to remove that implant and put in another. Again after healing and time for him to add solution to enlarge the breast, he punctures it for a second time and now I am going in for another removal and implant.
