Butt Implants & Lifts

Hello everyone,

A good butt is not a fashion flash in the pan. Just watch some old movies and notice the fitted skirts in the '40s, the cowboys in jeans in the '50s, spandex in the '70s and so on. However, obtaining what nature didn't give you is a relatively new thing and today, you don't have to live with a flat backside. Just like most things we do in plastic surgery, we can create what never was, or lift what used to be. So there is definitely a difference between a buttock lift and a buttock implant.

Butt implants can accomplish both the creation of a good butt as well as lifting what is there. They’re my favorite because of the reliable and dramatic results.

We measure patients carefully and go over sizes pre-operatively. Once we’re in the operating room, we make an incision within the existing vertical butt crease. The placement of the incision is such that it doesn't show. Then we slide the soft, squishy-but-solid implant beneath the buttock muscle, the gluteus maximus. The result is a round, lifted buttock that patients love!

Buttock lifts can be performed several different ways. The Columbian Hi-Def Butt Lift uses Vaser liposuction to sculpt the buttocks from where it ought not to be and then re-inject the free fat into the places where it should be. The results are not as dramatic as the implant, but for a little lifting and fullness, they’re just fine. Another technique requires more incisions and is called the direct buttock lift, a procedure reserved for severe weight loss patients.

Long story short, a youthful booty is not as far away as it seems. It may be right behind you! See more from this episode ...

Dear Dr. O

I would very much have the columbian hi-def butt lift done.  I've been considering a butt lift for sometime. Please send me more information on the procedure.  I would also like to know if this procedure is done in New York?

Thank you so much

I'm a little surprised that the downside to buttock surgery wasn't really mentioned in this segment. From what I have read, it's one of the more dangerous plastic surgical procedures out there. I was happy to see a few padded undergarment recommendations, but would have liked to have seen more emphasis on non-surgical procedures.

Hi Dr. Ordon,

I am Colombian, and I've heard a lot about this procedure (one cousin had it done overthere), but I was not sure how it worked.  Watching the show today was awesome... I would love to do it in adjuction with a a breast augmentation.

Thank you, for all the info.

Blessings,

Diana

Hello Dr Ordon,

I have been watching this show for quite some time... and I really like the way you and the others present options... even those that are considered "alternative." I record the show... so that I can rewatch them.

I watched the segment on the Columbian Hi Def Butt Lift.... You asked if we would get this proceedure.... Normaly, I would say no... we were dealt with a body to use... you should learn to "like yourself." Very good for the self esteem....

However... in 2005, I contracted necrotizing fasciitis and lost most of my right butt cheek, plus part of the back of my leg. My insurance company will not cover "implants" because that is considered elective. Plus, I can't afford to have the surgey.  I have had to learn to sit differently because of this proceedure... Even after four years... I stiil some difficulty sitting for long periods of time.

I was wondering if this proceedure would help in my case... Please feel free to send your comments to my email, if you have the time.

Thank you for all the great information that you are providing.

I thought I was going to die when reading this Blog! I have mentioned having a butt lift to my hubby and he laughs. Un like most I find it medically nessesary to have this done. and still talking with my MD about it. I have had three Lumbar Injections due to lower pain in my back.

But its not really my back that is the problem, Its my protruding tail bone which is very painful, to sit for long periods of time, Living in the country and just riding on a the riding mower, I get painful blisters right on my tail bone. It totally sticks out way beyound my butt cheeks, I find this really annoying.

Doctor says it is not wise to shave the tail bone, as I have done research on this as well, and know this can be done with maybe some complications to the spine.

So ok no shaving the tail bone. But due to pressure on my tail bone it gives me the back problems.

Still wondering if any thing will ever come of this, as I get older it wont get any better as we all know womans bones get more fragile as we get older, wonder what will come of the tail bone? I am not in for the looks part of it, I just dont think a tail bone should be so protruded that this is the first thing people notice when they see me from behind :O (
