Water-assisted liposuction

Hello Everyone,

Wow, someone hand me a beach towel! I just finished doing water-assisted liposuction and are my socks soggy!! I’m joking, of course. I’m kidding about the wet socks, but not the fact that there is such a thing as water-assisted liposuction. It's the newest thing, and it really works.

We used the BodyJet system, which is promoted as the gentler way to do liposuction. Having used it, I must agree. Compared to traditional liposuction, the BodyJet extracts fat more smoothly with less trauma to the body.

Here is how it works: The tip of the instrument pulses a jet stream of water into the tissue while it suctions simultaneously just behind the tip. The result is a gentle "washing" of fat down the cannula and out of the patient. The result is a very pure aspiration, or suction, with minimal trauma and virtually no swelling or bleeding.

I have found that even very resistant fat, scarred from previous liposuction, comes out easily and smoothly. I'm a fan of water-assisted liposuction.

Yes, I am very impressed with the results I’ve achieved for my patients using Body Jet. The system is in very effective with fat removal without the trauma associated with traditional Liposuction. The results are excellent, allowing assessment of contour and fat removal during surgery much easier. The typical distortion associated with tumescent fluid, such as Liposuction procedures, is eliminated. This allows me, the surgeon, as well as the patient, to reach the desired results much better.

Other advantages of Body-Jet include: Minimal damage to surrounding tissue; Reduced pain, swelling and bruising; Short recovery; Less anesthesia needed; Easily performed while patient is awake; Shorter operating times; Smoother results.

I'm interested in knowing more about the water assisted liposuction. Regardless, of the amount of exercise I perform or typed of foods I eat, my thighs always retain that same old flabby fat look. Also, I have problems with varicose and spider veins - - which manage to cause me pain on a daily basis. I had some sclerotheropy on one of my legs, but they just keep popping out.

I would really love to know how I could find several doctors in my area (Lilburn, GA) who is current performing this new procedure and of course the costs.

Hi Dr. Ordon,

I'd first like to say that I'm a huge fan of yours :) I have been looking for a safer method of lipo (I'm an easy bruiser and a bleeder- but, I have been throughly tested to elminate the possibitly of a disorder). I had 2 children back to back, they are 18 months apart and my last child was born May of 2007. I gained weight really fast (60lbs), and lost it fast (70lbs). I don't miss an episode of the show, and I know from watching and listening to you evaluate others, that I to have several areas that will not go away from excersise alone. After seeing the episode with the water-assisted liposuction I am truely interested. I did an online search and I can't find a doctor around that uses this lipo method. Being just outside of Washington D.C.- you would think that there would be. Also, I haven't had the best of luck with my doctors, and procedures that I've had done, lets just say- I haven't chosen them well enough. Last year, I had some cosemetic dental work done, and after issues, the total reached near $30k and 4 months of treatment which is needing to be redone (at age 26- I had 4 impacted adult canines under my gums and my 4 primary (baby) canines were still in there same place).

To get back on topic, I did some research and found that you may have a office in New York...is that true??? It would be worth the 6 or so hour drive from D.C. to NY to get a consult with you :) After all, I have already witness your skills. If you do not have an office there, is there any Doctors that you know of on the East Coast that does the water-assisted liposuction, that you could refer me to??

Looking forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Patricia

Water- Assisted Liposuction sounds really good. I have problem getting rid of fat in my stomach. I am always conscious of it. But I am afraid I cannot afford it! $$$$$

Dr. Ordon,

Hi there. I'm a huge fan (getting smaller...I've lost 10 pounds and have about 20 more to go). I "really" think I need this liposuction. Can you give me some info? Is it under general anesthesia? How much does it cost? and how long for recovery?

Keep up the good work (and your sense fo humor). You're alright!

Sue

I yoiu ever need a ginny pig for some real work I have just the stomach for you, you would make a real difference in my life...I also have a thick neck that my daughter received thru DNA feel bad for her. maybe we could both drop in for that alone, I am sure your audience would love to know how some of the things are passed on. She is very thin and I am thicker so I though it was that till I found her after being missing for 32 years. We both met only Feb of 2008 for the first time since she was 3 years old and that is the second thing I noticed about her. The first was that of all my kids she ended up with brown eyes like me.

I just read your message about water-lipo and was interested in the procedure. Is the cost about the same as regular lipsuction or more expensive? The fact that its minimally invasive and less swelling/bruising is great. Is this a new procedure?

Hello Dr Ordon and Dr. Schaefer,

After watching the show, I'm very interested in the Water Jet procedure. I currently live in Queens, New York. Do you have any office locations in New York City or can you recommend a surgeon in my area?

Many Thanks,

Wendy

I am intersted in the water assisted liposuction. Is there a doctor in Indianapolis, IN that does this procedure and what would the cost be???

Are there any reputable surgeons performing WAL in Orange County?

Would I LOVE to do this procedure!! Can a good doctor in Northern California be recommended? Can it tighten skin as well? Would a patient be left with loose skin after the procedure?

Thanks,

Lori
