sleeping on my stomach while pregnant

I'm almost 12 weeks into my pregnancy!

I have this thing with sleeping on my stomach. I wake up 3x a night finding myself sleeping on my stomach. Everytime when I wake up its on my stomach!

I put a pillow under the side of my stomach so that it would remind me not to do it, but I still wake up on my stomach.

Is it okay for the baby, i couldnt find the answer online. I weight 185lb and am really scared that I'm squishing the poor embreyo.......

YES VERY DANGEROUS.... I had the same problem and  got two long body pillows... and put them on both sides of me... It was hard but that motherly instinct will kick in now that you know its bad for baby... good luck

I'm a stomach sleeper too. You're little one is only 2 1/2 inches long. He or she is still nestled behind your pubic bone. So, there's no worry that you will squish him/her. There's really no danger in sleeping on your stomach. It only gets uncomfortable is all.  The best position is to sleep on your left side. Laying on your back as you get bigger isn't good for the spine. Laying on your right side as you get bigger isn't a good position because the biggest vein in the body leading to the heart (Vena Cava) is on your right side. A bigger fetus can put pressure on this vein if you're laying on your right side and that reduces blood flow. As for now, it's safe to sleep on your stomach. If you need reassurance, call your OB's office.
