We have a family remedy for hiccups that involves occular pressure. You just take the deepest breath possible, close our eyes and then using your thumbs gently press on your closed eyes lids with enough pressure to not cause pain. While continuing to press on your lids slowly let out the air counting to 10 but better to 15. That's it, and it works

That sounds a bit painful. I prefer to take a deep breath hold it and with my index fingers in my ears apply gentle pressure for about 30-60 seconds. I heard this from a doctor a few years ago works every time
