Lyme is hard to heal....

Living with and trying to heal from lyme is a long road.  Successful treatment can seem like one long plateau, with setbacks.  So it's important to take notes.  I am a lousy patient - I always think I know better, and have to find out the hard way that I don't.   So here are my notes on my progress for better or for worse.  Maybe some one will find use for this.

I set goal to snowshoe 7 miles by Mar - the snow gods were no cooperating this year, hung over from some decade party, I hear...  So I didn't have snow in Mar only ice, so I started walking instead.

Jan 18: 1/4 mi, 400' elev., under 10 mins. - snowshoeing

Jan 21: 3/4 mi, 600' elev., in 15 mins. - snowshoeing

Had to abandon 7 mile goal - Lyme messed with my way of moving and my knees are starting to hurt.  I need remedial movement training!!! :)   I am still snow shoeing lightly and doing pilates and light circuit training.  I'll get there...

Mar 19: 5.6 mi, 1200' elev., 2 hrs - ish walking

Mar 26: 5.8 mi, 1200' elev., 1.5 hrs - ish walking

Apr 1:   7.0 mi, 1200' elev., 1.75hrs - ish walking

May 2010:  Doing more circuit work than just walking.  Still walking sometimes - 5.8 mi w/ 1200' elev.

Jun - Aug 2010:  Upping of herbals since mid-Apr.  Because of fatigue, I had to back off on my walking, eventually stopping all together.  After a 14 year fight with this enemy, I know better than to push with this illness.
