I too have Fibromyalgia along with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy all 4 limbs, cervicle dystonia, degenerative spinal disease, and disc that keep disinigrating due to the spinal disease. The dystrophy in my legs cause a lot of pain, hypersensitivity both legs, pain beyond your imagination, and swelling that looks like the elephant man (lymphodema). My legs get so bad I can not even walk. I came across good docs in Chicago. I am now on Prednisone, and Lyrica that work pretty good. I can at least walk the dog/s when I need to or go for a walk on the beach because of the pred. It also helps the Fibromyalgia. A lot of massage helps the Fibro. as well I too are on other pain meds like Methadone to help with the chronic pain for all these conditions. I know Lyrica has been tested for Fibro. You may need to cut down on the Pred. Pred is a miracle drug for me but I am on only 51/2mgs. Good Luck Lin.

All I can say is after two treatments with predisone for a lung infection--I slapped on 80 lbs craving beef daily.

And continued a steady 3-5 lbs every single month since.

My body has 'morphed' into an unrecognizable person compared to my normal self before treatment.  Ihad major depression from trauma and losses piled on eachother so I was taking anti depressant and now have Cymbalta as my savior in that dept. which relieves the fibromyalgia also.

But since the treatment on my lungs I have since suffered NAFLD, Fibromyalgia, RLS, IBS, PPAH !! Diabetes, Allergies to near everything, severe fatique disabling me to even being semi-uman most days. Etc...etc... the list only grows.  I'd rather not live at all but I am not a suicidable person.  So I will watch your blog and I am

interested to see what develops.

P.S.  I call it "Face Planted" on my couch days that turn into 3-6 days easily at once.

And the couch is this piXies "nest" near 6 years!

Strength to you sister~!~

Cherie, sorry to here you have so many problems with the weight and pain. Once you get a good doc they will be sure to monitor you properly so these negative side affects do not happen, or reduce them at least. You too have to work on them like get up, not feel sorry for yourself, which I could have easily done, but did not choose too. No matter how bad the day, I at least went for a walk. My husband and I moved to a warm climate here in Daytona which has helped a lot. To shed those pounds you have to control your eating habits especially those empty calories in pop, wine turning into complex carbs, and sugars that put a tonage on! Speak to a nutritionist to see if that helps if you have a hard time with the food. I gained about 15 lbs which changes on a dailey basis since half can be swelling with fluid, and the other can be fat. It changes on the reducing side which is good for me! But the other lady who wrote me gained 100 lbs! Now that is crazy! Good luck! hang in there and get your motabolism up! Take care Lin

Ask your doctors about getting your vitamin D blood level to 40-60 ng/ml. Read my new profile. Maybe you all think I'm just a vitamin D nut, but if you don't try this, you will never know. It made a slow but huge difference in my life. I hope the same for you.

I Thank You ..

To each one of you who have written to me and are on the same boat sort of speak as I am.

I have tried many of the Drugs that many of you have said ...One problem for me is I am on Coumindin

Which interferes with alot ...I have a blood disorder called antiphplpic ( I know I didn't spell that right ) anyway.

That alone stops some treatment..I have tried all 4 of the Driugs out there for Fibro..I always get some kind

of side affect I'm only on 5 Predizone right now and I can tell you It is not enough..From my last couch visit.

I don't know what else to call it ..The Doc put me on 20's.....I was up in 45 min..with nuriton and a pain pill

of something..This time it's Vicodine 10's.....I have a beautiful garden that is my only exersice...I can hardley

work out there..10 min...stop sit 10 min stop sit This life sucks But.. I have 4 Children 2 are 14 and a 16 year

old and a soon to be 19 year old.. I am not ever going to give up..  I know there is a surgery out there to at

least Get some of this fluid off of me...75 pounds of it I bet Best of Luck to all of you And Again...

Thank you

I too have fibro and my doctor is still constantly changing my drugs to try to keep it under some kind of control.

The bad thing about lyrica which i am sure most of us are on is that it cause water retention.

I also have osteo arthritis in my back and hips. I will eventually need hip replacement.

I broke my back as a teenager and that has been fused for 18 years. If someone finds something that works

id like to hear about it too. I hope you all find relief and a way to get thru your days. I now have to stop

goofing off on the computer and get back to my homework. College is how i make my self get up and do

something.

hoping you have less painful days,

                                              loksi
