Hi there. My name is Sharon. I have brain trauma. I hope you find out that all is ok. it's nerve-racking. So peace be w/ you. I am also on Oxycodone plus other meds for the pain. It's not a fun thing. We pain suffers need one another to help uplift each other. We are the only ones that understand pain. Let me knwo how it goes.    :)

Cherie, check out Lyria.  I have been on it for three weeks along with a TENS unit, along with Avinza.  It took numerous doctors, pain management clinics, counselors, etc. but I finally found a doctor who helped me.  Yes, I did some research and found the TENS unit helps chronic pain sufferers.  It has done wonders!!  I took oxycontin for 7-8 years 120mg, along with percocet 15 mg, lortab 10 mg, vicodin 10mg.  I would take the one of the latter ones for the "breakthrough" pain.  It worked, but within the last year, I am breaking my teeth when I eat the softest foods!!  One of the side effects is dry mouth, therefore, one drinks in excess.  I am now 43 years old and getting fitted for dentures.  No one told me that this would happen.  I'm too young for dentures.

My advice, seek out a doctor you feel conformtable with, who knows pain management without the "heavy" narcotics.  Keep looking if you do not find results and for me, don't take oxycontin.  It rules your life.  You cannot get the drug early, even a day.  I have missed funerals, weddings, family occasions, my own wedding.  Everything was oxycontins schedule.  The day I ran out, have to run to the doctor to get the med, and fill it.  It sucks!!  And now, I"m out of teeth!!!

Make your computer your friend and research!!!  find chronic pain sites and tests out what others have been doing....  try lyria!!  it works.

Good luck
