About Me

I'm a 40-year old mom of 2 boys.  I might look small but my weight is the same as my pregnancy weight, actually more.  So, for a petite person like me (5'1"), 130 or 140 lbs. is a lot (I used to be 90 lbs.).  I got a muffin top on my belly, I see the fat even if I turn around and my shoulders look big and my legs shorter.  My husband is 31 and he used to be really skinny about 140 lbs, now he's 200 lbs. and he is 5'8 1/2".

I'm also a Filipina and it's hard for me to find a shirt or a dress because there's not a lot of petite sizes out there or if there is, they are more pricey than the regular size.  If I get the regular size and get the L, it's either the sleeves are too long or my bra-strap is showing off just to make sure my bulges are not obvious.  So now I started on January the 6th not eating and exercising and I'll tell you the easy tips on my next blog.

I did 70 sit-ups today!!!!

I've been trying to exercise since the 6th doing crunches, sit-ups and push-ups, I could only do 17 or 20.  But today, after playing the Wii Sports Resort Cycling (but actually I was jogging), I didn't even realize the time, it was probably about 30 minutes, I fin'lly sweat so much that I was more motivated.  I felt so light and flexible, that I was able to do 70 sit-ups by myself (nobody held my...

Fruit Water from Aldi

I bought a 24-pack fruit water (0 calories) from Aldi to keep my family from drinking soda.  It comes in 4 flavors: Orange, Grape, Pomegranate and Strawberry.  It's good for a start, now I'm not craving so much for softdrink anymore and eventually we'll drink just pure water in our home.

HAVE U TRIED THE 17-DAY DIET RECIPE?

Right now, there's only 2 free recipes on the 17-website:  the Turkey Taco and the White Egg Fritata.

We never ate turkey in my house except for Thanksgiving at my in-law's house, my husband hates it, so it was the first time for us to try the ground turkey w/ taco seasoning....WOW!!!!  It was really good!!!!  Instead of the shell, you're supposed to eat it with lettuce, but I got tempted I used the taco shell, that made me eat some more:((

But then, anyways, I couldn't wait to try the next recipe so I cooked the Fritata in the evening and instead of pizza style, I used my perfect puff pan, so I turned it into rounds and my husband ate almost all of it.  AND THEY'RE BOTH THE EASIEST TO MAKE.  Hope I can have more recipes like this.

I CAN REACH THE FLOOR NOW

I was having a hard time in the past 2 days 'coz I got bloated again, can't resist FOOD.  Nways, here's a test I did for myself,....it's been awhile since I really tried to reach the floor, well I've been trying since the 6th and I couldn't bend down until today.  So if I can reach the floor, that means my body is getting used to the exercise that I'm doing and I'm on my way to have a firm tum....:))

KEEPING YOUR BACK STRAIGHT!!!!

Aren't you proud you're doing something really good for yourself?  Here's a great tip, keep your posture up, somebody told me to imagine there's a stick stuck on my back from my butt to my head, that way I don't slouch and feel sexy all the time.  Today, I was able to wear my skinny pants and feel lighter, and my husband appreciates it.

GOING TO THE BATHROOM

To me, since I am not a professional, the only way I can put losing weight together is to regularly go to the bathroom at least once or twice a day.  I am the happiest whenever I eat that I feel like going after, it makes me feel I am loosing the fat.  I purposely eat things like chocolate (just a bit) to make my stomach upset and go and feel full and light at the same time.  As soon I feel my tummy shrink, I start my crunches again.  Or sometimes, when I'm doing my morning exercise, I dance or do some jumping jacks, stretching, 17 times for each or no counting necessary, JUST DO IT!!!!

FIRST, GET RID OF THE MUFFIN TOP!!!!

I don't know anything about nutrition or counting my calories but I know something that works for me and can work for anybody.

As I said I started on the 6th of this month, it's now the 13th, about a week.  The changes are so visible, my husband I noticed this 2 days ago (MY MUFFIN TOP IS TURNING STRAIGHT).  My eating depends on what I'm craving for but whatever I eat it's either I only take half of anything (advised by my friend) or eat once or twice a day, and make sure you got veggies with it.  For my exercise, I can't run outside because it's cold and snowy, but guess what, I do whatever I feel I'm capable of.  Most of the time, I lay on the floor 'coz I'm lazy, AS A MOM MY BACK HURTS, then I rest my feet up on the couch, then I do small crunches.  I know for most people with weight problems can't lift their backs up....guess what you don't have to go all the way up....for as long as you can feel the contraction or the pain in your belly....your muscles are starting to tear up....it always hurts the first time....then it heals up to tighten up your abdomen.  Your fat has to be stretched out as far as you can go and build your muscles up....SIMPLE.

NO PRESSURE!!!!

Okay, like any other mom, I'm always busy doing the chores while working moms are in the office.  No time for tv for the most part plus with my children with disability it doubles the work.  Both of my kids have autism, my 2nd child, he would change 5 times a day because he got sensitive skin....just imagine the 4 loads of laundry that I need to finish, plus the dirty dishes, he does the same with the cups.  But the bottom line is, I don't pressure myself on the 17-Day Challenge.  I DO IT EVERYDAY, while doing my chores by multi-tasking or combining business with pleasure.

For example, I always turn the tv on so there's sound while I'm working by myself.  I usually fold the clothes while watching TV and in between commercials, I would do my crunches or sit-ups.  NO BIG DEAL!!!!  I don't time myself so I don't get paranoid with the 17-minute plan but it adds up all together and it doesn't have to be a major exercise.  I usually do it when my husband is around to help with my boys.  I am thoughtful about doing it after I eat.

Wow, that is so amazing!  Actually, both of my boys are autistic, they're 7 and 6, and both have eating problems in a different way.  They both gag on foods they don't want, my older one also has ADHD and loves to eat (pizza, spag & just like your son peanut butter and jelly) and the younger one mostly drinks chocolate milk and cheerios (he barely eats).  Bless your heart for taking care of your stepson.

Nways, right now (I started Thursday last week) I'm trying to eat more veggies and deli meat like chicken breast, turkey or roast beef (Oscar Mayer or Land O'Lakes), a few slices of that with asparagus or carrots as what I saw on tv from Dr. Moreno's sample.  I also do my 17-minute crunches or sit-ups except for Sunday (trying to keep it holy).  I'm trying to eat just once a day, I kinda broke it today 'coz I ate twice when I fixed fried pork chops and fried chicken for my husband, but I ate it with pico de gallo (tomato, onion and cilantro).  My tummy hurts from the little sacrifices I made but I feel lighter already tho' I still see my body fat, I know it takes a little more time.
