Okay, so this is a long story...but let me start from the begining. I've been sexually active since I was 17, I am almost 21 now. Although I have had sex many times, it seems that sex never has been really great for me. I have always had pain with sex...with that said, I have been with my husband for almost three years now. Obviously we have relations and sometimes it feels good and other times it hurts extremely bad. So for like the past year we hardly even have sex because of the pain it causes me...it seems like it started to get really bad when I got pregnant with my son. We might have sex once a month if that...and it's really starting to take a toll on my marriage. I tell the doctors about it and they look and say everything looks normal...no stds or anything, so I'm stuck. I need to find a doctor that will take the time to find out what is causing my problem. I was three months premature when I was born, so Im starting to wonder if maybe something didnt get all the way developed....For the past two weeks I've been having some even stranger things happen to me. It first started as a UTI. I was treated for that with anti biotics and then I could not pee so I had a cathiter in for about 2 weeks now I am able to pee but am having a weird numbness of my bottom and vagina...My husband and I tried to have intercorse last night and I couldnt really feel anything except that it didnt feel right...All I know is I need to find out what is wrong before it destroys my relationship with my husband...please any help is appreciated.. thank you

IMO, if you haven't done so already, perhaps you should make an appointment with a urologist, rather than just seeing your regular OB/GYN (you didn't mention which specific doctor(s) you have already seen, so I'm just assuming that you have at least been examined by your OB/GYN so far). Your OB/GYN office should be able to refer you to a urologist (or some other type of specialist) but, if not, perhaps your insurance company can give you the names of urologists and/or other specialists that would be covered under your plan (assuming that you have some type of medical insurance, that is!). Good luck; hope you can find some relief soon!
Here's a condition that your doctor may not know about!
Vulvodynia. Here's a WebMd link (you can research other reputable sites as well). Read about what it is, what causes it, the symptoms, and what to do about it. WebMd even says, " Unfortunately, many health care providers may not be familiar with vulvodynia." I only found out when I suddenly started having pain during sex. Mine was only temporary (couple months), thank God, and after avoiding potential irritants listed on WebMd, I've been 100% better.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
