Quit Smoking

I watched the Monday episode of the Health Scare Experiment and couldn't believe how much it got to me. I am 25 years old and have been smoking since the age of 13. And just like everyone that smokes, you know the risks involved but never think it could happen to you ever. You always hear people say smoking is bad and see things on TV trying to get people to quit, but none of them ever had an affect on me, until this episode of the Drs. I cried so hard when she was told she had a tumor in her lung, and it made me think about what if that was a doctor telling me that. I have 3 beautiful children and the most amazing husband ever. I am an extreamly blessed person, and I don't want to leave them behind because of something as stupid as smoking. I want to see my kids grow up and be their every step of their lives and I want to grow old with my husband while we watch our grandkids play. Before they were even done telling her kids the news of the CT scan I was already in the kitchen throwing my pack of smokes in the garabage. I continued to cry, not because I was giving up smoking but for the fear of what I was doing to my own life and my family. I have vowed to myself that I am never going to touch another smoke. Watching that was exactly what I needed. I thank the Doctors so much for making that episode and I owe my quitting smoking to them!!!! Thank you so much :)

Well I am doing the best I can qith not smoking. There are still times I want to have a smoke during the day but all I think about when I want to smoke is my kids and husband. And that's what keeps me going. I have been a tad bit on the grouchy side though and my husband is sure noticing lol but I know it will pass. Good luck to you on quiting and I hope we can both kick this habit to the curb :)

I just read your 'quit smoking' blog...I pray that you are able to stay away from the cigarettes. I used to smoke in my 20's. I to, started at age 13, and the longer you smoke the harder to quit. I vowed I'd quit by age 30. I struggled but was able to quit by 26. Good thing, I'm allergic to them now...funny...I also love The Dr.'s. So full of valuable info! I won't take up your time anymore, but I just want to encourage you and wish you all of the luck and continued willpower. :)
