I've been having a problem that I have to admit that I'm enjoying, but my parents are worrying and it is starting to make me worry. I started missing my period in may before my senior prom which was in june. I didn't think much of it until I continued to miss it all the way until july. In august, I visited my ob-gyn said I had Amennorea and it might be due to my being overweight, and she gave me pills to start my period back up. This worked, but when the next month came I didn't have a period again and I am still missing them, so in total I've missed may, june, july, september, october, november and Im guessing that I'll miss decembers too. I havent been to my ob-gyn again and I'm wondering if I am going to have to take pills every month for this issue, and if I am are the pills technically birth control?

Keep going back to your doctor to look for reasons for your condition and ask your doctor to check your vitamin D as this could be a huge piece of the puzzle to explain your symptoms. In addition, it is commonly known in the scientific and medical community that the bodies of people who are overweight have a harder time utilizing vitamin D. If you can't lose the weight, you will probably need more vitamin D than those who are not overweight. Per the top doctors and scientists in the vitamin D world, you want to have a minimum blood level of 40-60 ng/ml. Every 100 IU's should raise your blood level by 1 ng/ml. See my profile for more info on vitamin D. Let me know if you have any questions. Take care. Larissa
it sounds like the dr did give you a birth control pill... or course you shoule varify that with them.. even so, that does not mean you should not use OTHER protection. you know??
were you checked for polycystic ovarian syndrome? http://women.webmd.com/tc/polycystic-ovary-syndrome-pcos-topic-overview
have you started to workout or diet since the missed periods started?if so this could be why they aren't coming as regular
Thank you
@larisalle: I will check into that.
@annon: I had to get a ultrasound to check for that. They found nothing in or around my ovaries that could be harmful.
@lynn poitras: No, I havent start dieting. I don't even know where to start when it comes to that.
