Potty Training

My son is 2 years old and we have been potty training him for almost 6 months or so. We hare haven a real hard time potty training him. My husband and I have both been training and my parents are trying to when he goes there for the weekends.

He does well for a couple weeks at a time but then all of a sudden he stops telling us that he has to go and won't go on the potty. He tells me he wants his pull up. I do not know what to do or if I am starting him too early. Is there any tips or is anyone haven the same type of problem.

My son has hit all his milestones around the same time as other childern his age if not before them. But haven a extremely hard time with this potty training. Both my husband and I and my parents are at our wits end. And parents have potty trained my 3 brothers and I and never had this much trouble.

Some one please help!

I think he might just not be ready.  He still is young, considering some boys seem to train a little later, ie 3 years old.  I think the idea though that he’s started to at least tell you sometimes is the beginning of it….and he might be asking for the pull-ups because he just isn’t quite ready yet.

I've always heard that boys are more difficult, but I do know a few couple who where very successful. They bought the little toy things that you drop in the potty that they try to sink. One guy told me his son is even better at not missins the pot that he is. They also say a lot of awesome praise helps. Stuff that makes them feel more grown up. One friend tried the whole pay of thing, did not go well at all. The boy would just try pee frequently to get the money but not empty his bladder so he could come back in a few minutes and make more reward money. He'd get to playing and forget until it was to late for him to get there on time. Just a fluck in the plan. Hope you can use some of this info. Let me know. God Bless!
