IBS

HI,

Im a 32 year old women with ms. For the last 4 years Ive had a severe problem with Reacurrent  loose bowels. No matter what I do I cant not control it! Im getting very frustrated!! I have done drinking plenty of water, fiber drinks, eating more fiber, excersise! I cant really identify any foods that triger it. Ive had a colonastpy (sp?) done, and it didnt show anything that was abnormal! I seen my primary care provider about it,and she said that there is nothing we can do about it!! Is there something that can be done about this, because the running back and forth to the bathroom messes with my fatigue from the ms??

Have you seen a dietitian?  I know someone who saw one for the same reason and it helped her.

You might try to eliminate dairy from your diet.  If you are a milk drinker, buy Lactose Free milk such as Lactaid.  Oftentimes our bowel troubles are food related and by eliminating offending foods we can correct tummy problems. I cannot drink milk without feeling sick....also, eat yogurt everyday.  Most people can well tolerate yogurt.  The probiotics are tummy friendly:)

YES I have actually. My best friend is a dietitan.. And she just says it could be severe IBS.. I went to see a gastro and after he did a colostpy,he dianosed me with Severe IBS. I have noticed that dairy products to aggravate it.. Im just wondering since my cholostral is high,if that is what it causing it? I do have my gallbladder removed, like maybe 4 years ago. But this problem was there before my gallbadder was removed. I am not one that drinks alot of liquids, but i try to drink more water than anything.. I maybe drink,6 oz a day... with having ms it is hard to excersise,so not much activity. Ive tried fiber supliments, more water. I was vegatarian (sp?) for the longest time, but doctor advised me that i do need to eat mean, since I am deficient in vatmin D.
