About Me

Vix Medicatrix Naturae
I have a beautiful 10 month old daughter named, Lily Rose, who is the light of my life and definately the best thing that I have ever done in my life. For the most part, she eats organic foods and definately eats better than I do. :P
I currently work as a Chiropractic Assistant and enjoy helping others achieve optimum levels of health, while focusing on prevention and lifestyle.
Also, I am a student at Everglades University in the Bachelor of Science in Alternative Medicine program. After I gradutate, I plan to either obtain my Masters in Nutrition or go straight onto a Clinical or Master Herbalist program, which is my primary goal. But, who knows...I may end up going even further, getting a degree in Ethnobotany to further compliment my knowledge of plants.
I love to share what I learn with others and will answer any questions that are thrown my way. If I do not know the answer, I will 1.) Research the subject to death. or 2.) Reffer the question onto someone who is much more knowledgeable than I.
I believe health is not merely, the absence of disease but rather social, psychological, and physical well being. (see World Health Organization's definition of health.) Allopathic or conventional medicine is indicated in many situations, though often the specific coarse of treatment is extreme and invasive, with little results. I do not agree with the stand that so much of conventional medicine takes when it comes to health, as so much of the medical profession is driven by profit these days. Though, I do believe there are still M.D.'s out there who do really have the patient's best interest at heart. I believe that prevention is the best approach to health, and that there are many so called "western diseases" that can be prevented by diet and lifestyle changes.
Even though I am a part of the natural medicine "revolution", as some have called it, I must stress that taking a "natural" remedy, does NOT mean that it is positively safe. Nor should someone take a "green pill" in order to cover up the symptoms of an underlying condition. Symptoms indicate a problem in the body that must be addressed, not covered up, which often creats new symptoms.
I also tend to get up on my soap box. :P ....but it's only because I am passionate about what I do.
