17 day diet- Day 17

Finally, Day 17 of cycle 1. Tomorrow I start cycle 2. In the morning I will weigh myself. Hopefully I will be happy with my number. I have been following my diet and working hard, so that's what I need to concentrate on.

Yesterday I was at the grocery store. Now my normal grocery store is not huge, it has what I need, but it doesn't take up a football field. They have a small health food section. You know when you're on a road trip and you drive through very small towns, the ones where if you blink you will miss them? That's the health food section at my store. Unless I'm looking and thinking about it, I usually roll on by. But, yesterday, I was looking at something across the isle and something over there caught my attention. It was marinara sauce. Now, let me be honest, since I got home I can't remember if it said "low-carb" or "no-carb" and I can't remember the brand. I think I have to go back to the store today so I will look and post it in case someone wants to know. I did pick it up and look at it. Now, before I tell you about the sauce, let me explain something. Anyone who read "about me" may already know some of this. I am Italian, and I grew up with a full-bloodied Italian father that was the most wonderful cook. No one cooked Italian food like my dad, IMO. I learned to cook from my dad. Usually when I make spaghetti, I make my sauce home made. I am not saying anything bad against anyone or any of the jar sauces. As a matter of fact, I have found one jar sauce that I will use, well used to use, on occasion. When I bought sauce for the eggplant parm, I bought Ragu Light Heart Healthy No Sugar Added. I haven't used it yet, but plan to. Now, after running my mouth, back to the "no-carb/low-carb" sauce". First, (and like I said, I have to look at it again so I'm guessing), it was a jar and probably only 16-18 oz, a little expensive IMO, and the big one, it was PINK. Spaghetti sauce isn't pink. Tomatoes aren't pink. It did not look appetizing. I could not eat that. I just want to say that I hope I'm not hurting anyone's feelings, because I certainly am not trying to do that. To me, the size of jar, the expense and the color, or lack thereof, just threw me, put me off, idk. I will post the info though.

I have exercised 2 days in a row. Pat me on the back and look at me go. As soon as I get done with this blog, I am going to exercise again. Sometimes I make myself proud.

I have to say that I love to blog. I have never done this before, blog that is. My girls think it's funny, "Mom's blogging again, lol". That's ok, I think a lot of things they do are funny and strange, so we're even, maybe? My husband also finds humor in it but encourages me. He says if it helps me, then blog away. He came in the kitchen, where the computer is, on sunday morning, and I was blogging and he said "Have you been dieting all this time?" I said no. He thought I had been on here for hours. How would he know, he was lying in bed while I was cooking him breakfast. I had just gotten on minutes before he walked into the kitchen. Men, you gotta love 'em.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good Morning, My husbands family is italian and how I loved the family meals.I wonder if our homemade sauce could be used. There is nothing artificial in it and no preservitives.I dislike buying it when you can have the real thing.I am trying so many new things now that I never thought to try before. My husband says my grin gets wider when anyone talks with me about the plan.I can't seem to help it I just feel so successful with this program.Have a great day.
